Director of Operations – Robotic Automation
Job Description:
The Director of Operations is responsible for the successful guidance and oversight of company production from start to completion in an “Engineer to Order” environment. Job Responsibilities:
- Review company annual budget with the Leadership Team and manage to budget
- Capacity planning and project scheduling
- Review incoming project scopes with sales
- Project team member assignments
- Coordinate billing milestone approvals with Accounting and project managers
- Production Manager, Purchasing Manager, and Project Management oversight
- Interface with Purchasing Manager for supplier reviews and purchasing issues
- Communicate computer & software needs to the IT Manager and outside IT support group
- Work with Production Manager to evaluate & recommend facility and equipment needs.
- Coordinate and maintain employee training plans
- Coordinate hiring requirements and needs with HR
- Overall accountability for company throughput – able to manage multiple project managers.
- Responsible for project financial results including performance to budget, change order management, and scope creep.
- Accountable for on-time delivery.
- Conduct direct report employee annual reviews.
- Interface with parent and sister companies on facility issues
- Work with Purchasing, Production Manager, and Principal Engineer to manage resources during the design, build, test, ship, installation, and commissioning phases of projects.
- Leverage new hardware and software to improve efficiencies, scheduling, and inventory.
- Responsible for the clean, organized, operational setup of the shop.
- Develop and implement systems that ensure employees are well-trained, required tools are on-hand, and in good working order, and the facility is safe and compliant.
Applicant Qualities:
- 7+ years of Industrial Automation Experience
- 7+ years of Operations or Project Management Experience.
- Accredited BS degree and/or certification in management, business, project management, technical, or related field.
- Proficient using MS Project, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint.
- Work professionally and efficiently with project team leaders, production management, administration, and customers.
- Strong communication, and organization skills, in both written and verbal capacities.
